Our Changyu -Moser XV Grand Vin 2013 is now available at one of London’s most exciting and impressive wine shops - the eclectic @hedonism_wines in Mayfair #london@Lenz_m_moser held a wonderful tasting there for press and trade earlier this year.
@lenz_moser says this wine is a ‘beautiful balance of new world meets old – with the positives from both sides’. It’s classic cabernet with the freshness of Bordeaux and intense flavours, power and complexity with a touch of spice à la chinoise. #chinesewine
We are delighted to feature in UK wine-writer @chrislosh ’s new book #wheretodrinkwine by @quadrillebooks – a brilliant guide on the world’s must-visit wineries - wineries who are geared up for visits, tours and tastings. We are very well geared up for tourists. We are open 365 days a year, there is a history of wine museum and interactive play area for kids… as you can see in the pic above, fun for adults too! Questions we are asked #2 Wherabouts are you located in #china? Is in Ningxia autonomous region in North Western China on the fringes of the Gobi dDesert and the foothills of the Eastern Helan Mountains. See Map! The Great Wall of China runs along its North Eastern border. It is situated approximately 1,000 kilometres west of #Bejing, in a remote region that was formerly a coal mining area. The vines are irrigated by the YellowRiver. #ningxia is THE buzzword for winemaking in#China at the moment and we are very much at the forefront of this #exitingwines for #chinesewine.
One question we got asked a lot @threewinemen in #London last weekend: ´But are the grapes actually grwon in China?´Answer: YES! Of course. These are healthy cabernet grapes from 12-18 year old vines at our estate vineyard in #ningxia.
But grapes (Vitis vinifera L.) have been grown in China for around 2000 years .Vitis vinifera cultivation and winemaking in China began during the Han Dynasty in the 2nd century with the importation of the species from Ta-Yuan. However, ape production was neglible until the founding of People´s Republic of China. Te area under cultivation of grapes was only about 3,200 hectares.
Today, we have the second largest global vineyard area (847,000 ha) and we are the sixt largest wine producing country - larger than Chile, South Africa or Argentina. Ningxia has 40,000 hectares under vine and over 100 wineries...this is set to double in the next 5-10 years. Look out world - Chinese wine is coming!
Our beautiful 66 hectare flagship vineyard around the #changyumoserxv estate is practically organic. It´so dry in Ningxia that we don´t have to worry about rot or mildew. Grapes from here go into our top end ´Grand Vin´ Chateau Changyu Moser XV Cabernet Sauvignon.

Did you know that Ningxia, China has more sunshine hours than Bordeaux?
Located in a ‘golden zone’ for vineyards, the east foothill of Helan Mountain in #Ningxia has more than 3000 hours of sunshine annually - and all the natural conditions needed for premier cultivation and optimum ripening - including the correct temperature range, pollution-free soil, decent rainfall and irrigation. The environment produces aromatic grapes with high sugar levels and moderate acidity. @lenz_m_moser says ‘All my life, I have been looking for the perfect grape and I am so happy to have found it here at Chateau Changyu-Moser XV’ #changyumoserxv#bestofningxia#countdowntoharvest#photocredit#ningxiawineboard#helanmountain

Just finished planning 2018 and again realizing: how much easier it is to build a brand, create China´s No. 1 chateau, when people lobe the quality in their glasses and the qulity of the image. Hence again, my focus to make the very best together with my friends in Ningxia!
